Solder is a general term for metal alloy materials added to welds, surfacing layers and brazing seams. Including wire, electrode, solder and so on. The melting temperature of the solder used for fusion welding is usually not lower than the solid phase line of the base metal. Its chemical composition, mechanical and thermal properties are similar to those of the base metal, such as various electrodes and flux cored wires. The weld strength is usually not lower than the base metal itself, and the melting temperature of brazing filler metal must be lower than the solid line of the base metal. Its chemical composition is often far from the base metal. The brazing seam is fine and precise in size, but the strength of the brazing seam is mostly lower than that of the base metal itself, and the corrosion resistance is also poor.
The silver electrode consists of the electrode core and coating. One of the functions of the silver electrode core is to conduct electricity as the electrode, and it is also the main material to form the weld metal. Therefore, the quality of the electrode core directly affects the performance of the weld. The material of the silver electrode core is the low carbon steel of 0.08% C, which is specially manufactured for high-quality steel-fired carbon steel. The most widely used are H08 and H08A with their carbon content. As well as the harmful impurities of sulfur and phosphorus, there are strict restrictions on the diameter of commonly used electrode (i.e. the diameter of electrode core) is 2.5-6 mm and the length is 350-450 mm. Although silver electrode has the ability to resist external damage in general, it can not be ignored that it is easy to be damaged due to poor storage.
The main function of solder is to connect the solder to form a channel for the circuit.
Conditions for common solders
The melting point of the solder is lower than that of the welded workpiece.
It is easy to connect with the solder and has a certain compressive capacity.
